Stormy's Car Sales is unquestionably a remarkable success story, The tale of a family run business that has grown from modest beginnings in Picton almost 30 years ago, to one of the largest vehicle dealers in South Eastern Ontario. Nowhere is this more obvious than in Belleville where the third-generation business has just christened a new "auto showcase" at Dundas St. East in the heart of downtown, a move that will enable the company to further enhance the overall car buying experience for shoppers accross the region.
Launched by the late Ted Storms and his son Chris in March 1981 on County Road 1 in Picton, today Stormy's employs over 20 people between its two locations. Chris moved the Picton operation to its current location on Main Street West in 2002 where it now features an impressive 12-bay automotive service and emission testing centre.
The new facility in Belleville reflects the dynamic growth that the company has enjoyed since first branching out from its Picton Headquarters just eight years ago. "We wanted to be able to better accommodate our customers and offer them an even wider selection of vehicles to choose from."
With a wide array of carefully selected pre-owned cars, minivans, SUV's and light trucks to suit every budget, all vehicles are subjected to a rigorous 120 point inspection by Stormy's team of six certified "Class A" technicians. Only once a vehicle has met the stringent mechanical and reconditioning standards that Chris and Mike insist upon is it presented for sale. "We've worked hard to earn our reputation for both the high quality of our vehicles and the integrity of our business practices" states Chris Storms. From the non-commissioned sales staff to the policy of not charging the seemingly industry standard 'administration fee' Stormy's is certainly not your average place to buy a car.
The newly expanded Belleville facility which now occupies the entire south side of Dundas St. from Front to Pinnacle Streets has made a significant contribution to the revitalization of the downtown Belleville business core and made it a "must see" destination for Quinte area car buyers. With an inventory of approximately 200 vehicles between the two locations, whether it's a fuel-efficient Mazda compact, a family-friendly Dodge minivan, a hard working Ford pickup, a luxury Mercedes sedan, a prestigious Lexus SUV or a sporty Porsche roadster, the team at Stormy's Car Sales is equipped and ready to earn your business.
